Travel Photography - Sea + Sky Landscapes

After asking what’s my favorite destination —I love every place I visit for different reasons — most people want to know why I travel all over the world. Aside from my keen interest in learning about other cultures, there are myriad psychological benefits to traveling, including learning to be present centered, and developing resilience, skills that are especially useful in these days of the pandemic. Below are a few of my landscape photos from my round the world travels.

Traveling far afield — where the unknown resides around any corner — offers opportunities for resilience.

During these turbulent and challenging times, I strive for a sense of serenity, even if it lasts for only a moment.

Sky + Sea Watercolors - Abstracts from My Travels

Even my abstracts are nature based. Here the sun penetrates the sea.

Watercolors Part 3 - Landscapes

For me, the sky and sea are one.

Even though the only forests I see now are in my dreams, they still snuggle me with comfort.

In my dreams, the colors of the sky, clouds, and trees can be unusual but no less beautiful and inspiring.

Entering each and every forest is a magical and transformative experience for me.

Photos: Saint Kitts

With its almost 4,000-foot dormant volcano, Mount Liamuiga, that often has clouds swirling around its peak, stone ruins that provide reminders of the island's sugar plantation past, lush rain forest coating undulating terrain, and numerous opportunities to relax in plunge pools or the relatively calm Caribbean Sea, Saint Kitts in the Caribbean is a picturesque isle. These images provide a small window into the island's treasures.

Photos: Tobago

A trip to Tobago offers more than the typical activities of sunning, snorkeling and swimming. I trekked along trails deep in the rainforest, went mountain biking through dense mangrove forests and strolled through a petite botanical garden.

Photos: Montenegro

With its hilltop fortresses, chapels snuggled in pine forests, network of hiking trails and family-owned vineyards, Montenegro appeals to oenophiles, those who embrace nature, history lovers or visitors who simply prefer hanging out on a thin crescent strip of sand. This photo essay depicts some of the many treasures that Montenegro offers.
