Travel First-Aid Advice - Video

"Be prepared" is my travel motto. And, in keeping with that theme, I've blogged and guest blogged about how to stay well on the road. But if you'd like to see how I actually pack my ultimate first-aid kit and why I bring the supplies I do, check out this new media segment (part 1 of a two-part series) that I just did for Trip On A Deal. In 7+ minutes, hosts and producers John Palacio and Luz Montez ask me about why I bring along Tic Tacs, what supplies women need to tote to ward off ills on the road, the array of products I carry to ward off "tummy troubles" and much more.

  1. So this goes into your checked bags ... yes? It would be too many gels etc for the carry-on rules ???

  2. Hi Roxanne, Actually, no checked luggage. I have very small sizes (each is substantially smaller than 3 oz) for each of the many gels/liquids. So they all fit in the accepted one quart-size zip lock bag. Then, when I get to my destination, I separate them into their separate bags.

  3. Good advice from a seasoned traveler. With all my travel-blogger buddies, I should be good to go if I ever venture out of Michigan.

  5. What a great idea. When we travel out of the country I have always tried to create such a kit but not nearly as organized as yours!

  6. Hi merr, yes, a well-organized and complete first-aid kit has always been the item I first pack when I'm traveling.

  7. Great video, and great tips! Since you bring carry-on, can you bring ALL these bags with you? In other words, more than one quart-sized bag?

  8. Hi Sheryl, Great question. Yes, I can easily bring all the bags because what I do is put the small-size liquid/gel containers in one 1 quart bag before I go through security. Then I repackage into the individual bags when I get to my destination.
